From Pause to Perspective: What’s Next

After wrapping up our last series about the writing journey and its challenges, I found myself asking: what do I really want to share next with friends like you?

I’m an author—but I’m also human. And like many of us, I’ve had my share of ups and downs. Lately, through some recent experiences—quiet ones, messy ones, unexpected ones—I kept circling around a simple but powerful idea: The Upside of the Downside.

That phrase stuck with me.

We often hear about the comeback after the storm, the light at the end of the tunnel. But sometimes the most powerful growth doesn’t happen after the low point. It begins inside it.

I started thinking about those moments when life changes direction. Not just in big dramatic ways, but in small personal shifts. A job ends. A plan falls apart. A relationship drifts or collapses. And we find ourselves paused. Unsure. Maybe even muted. And yet, something in us still wants to find meaning.

So this new series is a quiet offering. It’s not about fixing everything or rushing forward. It’s about noticing what still exists when things feel uncertain. The small things that bring color back. A conversation. A walk. A piece of music. A sentence that lingers.

Each episode will explore one of those quiet turning points. The moments that don’t always make headlines but somehow help us keep going. We won’t map out solutions. But we’ll name the feelings. We’ll stay with the questions. And together, we’ll keep moving.

Before we begin next week with our first story, I wanted to take a moment to sit here, honestly, and say: if you’ve felt a bit upside down lately, you’re not alone. Maybe we’re not meant to bounce back as much as we’re meant to unfold. Slowly. Kindly. Truthfully.

Here’s something to carry into the week:

I’ll be back soon with Episode 1:

When Life Puts You on Mute.

Until then, thanks for being here.

Warm wishes,
